Resident Blues

I’ve got to move

I’ve got to change neighbourhood

Yes

I’ve got to move

I’ve got to change neighbourhood

I will have money in my hand

I tell you I was chosen for this  superficial grant

It took every dime I had

to apply for this grant

It is hard for me to survive

I can’t even pay the rent

That’s why now I’ve got to move

I’ve got to change neighbourhood

In a year I am back

And I hope by then I am doing good

The money that I gonna get

Would be at home more than I’ve ever had

But in this foreign land

again it will be hard to meet ends

I’ve got to move

I’ve got to change neighbourhood

Yes

I’ve got to move

I’ve got to change neighbourhood

I gonna miss my baby who is staying      home

I am leaving home gonna be all                alone

The language I don’t                                   understand

In this new foreign land

I’ve got to move

I’ve got to change neighbourhood

In a year I am back

And I hope by then I am doing

good
